The APNC mentors and supports consultants to professionally balance fresh meals, either raw or home-cooked, to ensure this is achieved in a complete and balanced way.
Consultants also understand how to determine if a dog would need to be fed processed food for any reason and finally how to ensure balanced nutrition should the two diets be combined.
The mentorship does not include formulation of processed foods. These are already considered balanced and complete.

The APNC is the only official registration of professional canine nutrition consultants working to ensure the highest standards in this emerging profession.
Our high standards ask for applications to be made via our Become an Associate page.
You can choose from our mentorship programme or simply join as an associate consultant by demonstrating an existing compentancy of the curriculum of the mentorship programme.

The minimum 6 month Mentorship is economical, fun, engaging with an emphasis on support and community CPD afterwards too.

The APNC has been founded by two professional pet nutrition consultants with over 45 combined years in the industry. With growing concern on the direction of the overwhelming interest and short-course culture in the subject of Canine Nutrition the APNC is here to offer clarity, support and guidance as well as liaising with further professionals to ensure the longevity of Canine Nutrition Consultancy as a profession.

Yes, we are supported by vets, have a veterinary advisor on-board and have begun discussions with regulatory veterinary bodies. We will continue liaising with further professionals to ensure the longevity of Canine Nutrition Consultancy as a profession.

The APNC started as a UK register. However we have since accepted practicing international consultants and international students have travelled over for our in-person Mentorship. If you are already practicing please do contact us via the Become an Associate page. If you can display competency you will not need to undertake the mentorship with us to be registered.
For the Mentorship you will need to attend at least one in-person study weekend in the UK.
